Before a service visit, write down anything that seems wrong with the vehicle, take out your valuables and bring the service record. Clear notes about what you have noticed, and when it happens, are the most useful thing you can give a technician.
What should you tell the technician?
Describe the symptom, not your guess at the cause. A technician can do far more with "a knocking noise from the front left when I go over bumps" than with "I think the suspension is gone".
- What you notice: a noise, a smell, a vibration, a warning light
- When it happens: on starting, when braking, at speed, when turning, in the rain
- How long it has been happening and whether it is getting worse
- Any recent repairs or parts fitted elsewhere
What should you take out of the car?
Remove valuables, cash, documents and anything loose in the cabin and boot. If the vehicle is having interior detailing as well, emptying the door pockets, glovebox and boot lets the team clean those areas properly.
What should you bring?
Bring the things that tell the story of the vehicle.
- The service record book, if you have one
- The spare key, if a key or locking problem is part of the visit
- The locking wheel nut key, if your wheels have one
- A phone number where you can be reached during the day
Why mention everything when you book?
If you want a wash, a detail or a repair done in the same visit as the service, say so when you book. The team can then plan the time and the order of work, instead of finding out when you arrive.
When you send an appointment request to EasyCare, our team confirms your date and time by phone or WhatsApp. That call is a good moment to mention anything you forgot to put on the form.
